How to Create an Album

Master the basics

Creating an album on PicTomo is incredibly easy. You don't need to sign up or install any apps. Just access the website from your browser and start sharing photos immediately.

Steps to Create an Album

First, visit the PicTomo homepage. You'll see an input field labeled "Enter album name" in the center of the screen. Type in your event name (e.g., "Smith & Johnson Wedding", "Class of 2025 Reunion"). A clear, descriptive name makes it easier to find later.

After entering the album name, click the "Create" button. That's it! Your album is now created. A QR code and URL are automatically generated. Share this QR code or URL with participants so everyone can upload photos.

Choosing a Preset

When creating an album, you can choose from three presets. "Lots" offers 24 hours validity with up to 300 photos - perfect for weddings where you want to collect many photos quickly. "Balanced" provides 100 hours with 100 photos, suitable for multi-day events. "Relaxed" gives you 10 days with 30 photos, ideal for small group trips.

About Owner Device

The device (smartphone or PC) used to create the album is recognized as the "owner." From the owner device, you can perform management operations such as changing the album name, setting viewing passwords, and purchasing time extensions. If you want to manage from another device, use the "Device Sync" feature.

You can also set a viewing password if needed. With a viewing password, only people who know the password can access the album, protecting your privacy.

Using QR Codes Effectively

Smart sharing techniques

PicTomo's key feature is easy sharing via QR codes. Participants simply scan the QR code to access the album - no app installation or registration required.

How to Share with QR Code

When you create an album, a QR code is automatically generated. Scanning this QR code with a smartphone camera takes you directly to the album page. On iPhone, use the standard Camera app. On Android, use Google Lens or your camera app to scan.

Displaying at Events

At weddings and reunions, place QR codes in visible locations around the venue. Good spots include the registration table, each guest table (mini size), next to the photo booth, and near restroom mirrors. Placing codes in multiple locations ensures more guests see them.

Use the QR Flyer feature to easily create and print info cards with PicTomo instructions. The user-friendly design helps first-time users understand how to upload photos at a glance.

Sharing via Messaging Apps

For remote participants or those who couldn't attend, you can send the URL via LINE, WhatsApp, or email. Tap the "Share" button to select a messaging app and send quickly. You can also copy the URL and post it to group chats.

Social Media Sharing

Album URLs can be shared on social media, but we recommend setting a viewing password for private photos. With a password set, even if the URL spreads, unauthorized access is prevented.

Event Photography Tips

Perfect for weddings, reunions & parties

PicTomo works great for weddings, reunions, parties, corporate events, and more. Here are tips for using it in different scenarios.

Weddings & Receptions

At weddings, guests' candid photos become precious memories alongside professional shots. Distribute QR codes at registration and announce "Please upload your photos!" Guests can upload during the reception, after-party, and anytime.

Recommended placement spots: registration table, guest tables (mini size at each), beside the photo booth, and near restroom mirrors. Multiple locations ensure maximum visibility.

Class Reunions

Reconnecting with friends after years means lots of photos! At reunions, have everyone scan the QR code at the start, and keep accepting photos for several days afterward. Choose the "Relaxed" preset (10 days valid) so attendees can add photos after returning home.

Casual Gatherings & Parties

For casual get-togethers, the host can simply display the QR code on their phone and pass it around. It's easy to access even after a few drinks, so you'll collect lots of fun, candid shots. No more "where's that photo?" conversations the next day.

Corporate Events & Team Building

PicTomo shines at company events too - training sessions, company trips, year-end parties, welcome parties, and farewell gatherings. Skip the hassle of collecting photos afterward; everyone can share and enjoy memories on the spot.

Privacy & Security

Why you can trust PicTomo

PicTomo prioritizes privacy and security in photo sharing. Here are the features and measures that ensure safe use of our service.

Automatic Location Data Removal

Photos taken with smartphones may contain location data (GPS coordinates) embedded in them. PicTomo automatically removes this location information (EXIF data) from all uploaded photos. This means sharing photos won't reveal where they were taken. You can safely upload photos taken at home without worrying about privacy.

Password Protection

By setting a viewing password, only people who know the password can access the album. This is useful for sharing private photos or when you want only specific groups to view them. Passwords can be changed later if needed.

Automatic Deletion After Expiry

PicTomo albums have expiration dates. They're automatically deleted after expiry, so you don't have to worry about photos remaining on the internet indefinitely. You can download photos anytime before expiry. For longer storage, you can extend the expiration with paid options.

HTTPS Encrypted Communication

All communication with PicTomo is encrypted via HTTPS (SSL/TLS). This prevents third parties from intercepting data during uploads and downloads. You can safely share photos even on public Wi-Fi networks.

Handling Inappropriate Content

If inappropriate photos are uploaded, you can delete them from the owner device. The operations team may also take action on significantly problematic content.

Troubleshooting

Common issues and solutions

Here are solutions for common issues when using PicTomo. Most problems can be resolved with these methods.

Can't Upload Photos

If photo uploads fail, several causes are possible. First, check your internet connection. Make sure Wi-Fi or mobile data is stable. Large file sizes may also cause uploads to take longer. Wait a moment and try again.

The browser within LINE app may not allow the camera to work properly. In that case, select "Open in Browser" from the top-right menu to open in Safari (iPhone) or Chrome (Android).

Can't Scan QR Code

If the QR code won't scan, try adjusting the distance between your camera and the code. Too close or too far can prevent successful scanning. Also check if the printed paper is reflecting light or has wrinkles or folds. If it still doesn't work, you can manually enter the URL to access.

Managing from Another Device

Album management can only be done from the owner device (the device used to create it). If you've changed phones or want to manage from a PC, use the "Device Sync" feature from the owner device to sync with the new device. After syncing, you can manage the album from either device.

Album Expired

Expired albums are automatically deleted. Unfortunately, if you forgot to download photos before expiry, they cannot be recovered. Make sure to download important photos while they're available. Use the "Batch Download" feature to download all album photos as a ZIP file.
